Leisure centres across Sheffield will mark the arrival of the Olympic torch in the city with a series of sports and fitness sessions for just £1.
Swimming, tennis, squash and football are just some of the sports available for £1 at Sheffield International Venues (SIV) facilities while the torch is in Sheffield on Monday, June 25 and Tuesday, June 26.
The offer is running at SIV venues including Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Don Valley Stadium, the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, Concord Sports Centre, Stocksbridge Leisure Centre, Springs Leisure Centre, Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre, Heeley Swimming Pool and Westfield Sports Centre.
Court hire, fitness classes and use of SIV’s athletics tracks will also be just £1 on the two days the torch is in Sheffield.
Hillsborough Leisure Centre will hold a special £1 pool party with a live DJ on Monday, June 25, from 6-8pm, to celebrate the torch being in Hillsborough.

The Olympic Torch will set off on the last leg of its journey in Sheffield when it leaves Don Valley Stadium on Tuesday, June 26.
SIV’s commitment to bringing the Olympics a little closer to Sheffield also includes Sheftival – the biggest ever festival of sport and culture which is expected to attract more than 50,000 people to the Don Valley cluster of facilities when it takes place on 4 and 5 August.
